Learn about the history of quilting and see how a once utilitarian craft has evolved into a true art form. Members of the Heritage Needlework Guild will offer demonstrations throughout the weekend. Adults and children will enjoy creating quilted make-and-take activities.
In addition, award-winning, best-selling novelist Stephanie Grace Whitson will join us for a special presentation on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Author of The Shadow on the Quilt, Whitson will utilize quilts, blocks, and quilt tops from her personal collection to pay tribute to our pioneer foremothers. Her presentation includes readings from pioneer women’s diaries, reminiscences, and unpublished archival papers. Whitson will be available for signings and to visit with guests throughout Saturday and Sunday.
