Mystery at the Mansion at Arbor Lodge

Spend an enjoyable evening sipping iced tea and mingling with new friends while playing a part in an interactive murder mystery at Arbor Lodge Mansion. Living History Weekend – Vintage Halloween at Arbor Lodge State Historical Park

Step back in time to see historic trades, talents, and other demonstrations come alive inside the mansion and out on the beautiful grounds of Nebraska City’s National Historic Landmark.

Nature Discovery Family Program at Tree Adventure

International Mud Day at Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure

Did you know getting outside and playing in the mud is not only fun, but it’s also beneficial?!

Get your hands dirty and play in the mud to celebrate International Mud Day on Saturday, June 24, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tree Adventure. Make mud paintings and sculptures, squish your toes in the mud, and investigate different types of soil (a change of clothes is recommended).

Holiday Trolley Tour of Lights at Lied Lodge & Conference Center

Back by popular demand — it’s the Holiday Trolley Tour of Lights in Nebraska City.

Weekends this December, climb aboard the Arbor Day Farm trolley for a one-hour tour of Historic Nebraska City and the best show of Christmas lights.

During the ride, you’ll enjoy a reading of a classic Christmas book.
The trolley departs the Lied Lodge lobby at 6:00 p.m. sharp and returns approximately one hour later.

Tree Climbing Weekend at Arbor Day Farm is your opportunity to harness up and shimmy your way skyward in an old oak savanna. There’s even smaller-scale climbing options for the younger set.

Weekends this fall, the entire family will enjoy a mash-up of Arbor Day Farm’s most beloved fall season activities: hayrack rides, cider, s’mores and storytelling!

On Fridays and Saturdays nights, Sept. 30 thru Nov. 12, climb aboard a hayrack at the Lied Lodge lobby, where your journey begins at 7:00pm sharp. Travel to Arbor Day Farm’s Morton Oak tree, where you’ll sip hot apple cider, make s’mores, and enjoy tales from a storyteller, then return to Lied Lodge by approximately 8:45pm.

International Mud Day at Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure

Did you know getting outside and playing in the mud is not only fun but also beneficial?!

Civil War Reenactment at Arbor Lodge

Join us at Arbor Lodge State Historical Park on June 25 & 26, as Civil War reenactors return to Nebraska City. View a Civil War encampment throughout the weekend complete with programs and demonstrations.

Celebrate National Wildlife Week at Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure

We don’t always take time to notice it, but wildlife is all around us, from the tiniest bugs to birds to deer and beyond.

“Living with Wildlife” is the theme of this year’s National Wildlife Week, observed March 9-15.

Join us at Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure on Saturday and Sunday, March 14-15, and get better acquainted with the critters that are all around us. Find them in their natural habitat, learn more about their habits and traits, learn how to make your backyard more attractive to wildlife, and have fun with make-and-take wildlife crafts. Saturday (only): also stop and appreciate a collection of pelts, feathers, bones, and other natural wildlife items collected from the woods at Arbor Day Farm and various points across Nebraska.

Groundhog Hike at Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure

The perfect cure for cabin fever! Get some fresh air and stretch your legs at Arbor Day Farm with the Groundhog Hike — your chance to learn about the Groundhog’s Day tradition and why his shadow is so noteworthy.

Join us for guided hikes departing from the Tree Adventure on Jan. 30, at 11am and 1pm. Guests can climb through our own groundhog “tunnel” and see if you can find your shadow.
