On The Longest Day, teams around the world come together to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer’s with a day of activity. Held around the summer solstice, this event calls on participants to raise funds and awareness to advance the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. The Cuming County Alzheimer’s Alliance is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and funds for those facing Alzheimer’s.

In the United States more than 5 million people are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and 35 million worldwide. These numbers are expected to skyrocket to as many as 16 million and 115 million people, respectively, by mid-century.
