Third Thursday Open Studio

Join us every third Thursday of the month from 5 to 7 pm!

This month meet the Lincoln artist exhibiting in our gallery, Sarah Berkeley.  Her opening reception will take place during the open studio event.

Visit the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts and meet our current artists-in-residence during our Third Thursday Open Studios. You will be invited into the visual artists’ studios, the writers will give short readings and the composers will share either performances or compositions.

KHN normally has five artists-in-residence every week and they may stay any length between two and eight weeks.  They are selected twice a year through a competitive application process.

10 Year Anniversary Celebration

crowd crop

Owner, Jeanna Stavas, says, “This event is not about me but an opportunity to thank everyone that has supported me through the years; my family and friends, guests and patrons, partners and the surrounding communities and Nebraska City. It was only with all of these people that this business has been a success.  It was a crazy idea I had to leave my corporate technology job and pursue a new endeavor/career where I was able to enjoy my passion of people and food!  It’s been an exciting 10 years and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!  We hope you can join us!”

Join the Facebook event to learn more, follow our vendors and sponsors, find out what’s up for raffle, help us keep track of how many people are coming  and we might even drop some hints for the scavenger hunt.

The festivities will include:

Music featuring local artists: Chris Saub, Aly Peeler and the Pioneers and The Packages

Food and Drink Vendors: Prairie Fire Pizza, Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard and Fruitemade Frozen Pops

Free while they last…

Jeanna’s chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes from Janie’s Confections

Door prize for the first 200 attendees

A Scavenger Hunt – Test your knowledge of Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast

And so much more…

**A patio of memories will be created from pavers donated and signed by guests that they can come visit for years to come.

**Jeanna enjoys teaching about food and the joy it can bring so searched for a way to give back to the community with a focus on food. A raffle will be held with all proceeds going towards local food projects such as the food pantry, backpack program and a kids cooking camp to be taught by Jeanna this winter. Local partners were willing to donate some fantastic items to support both the event and the giveaways. Thank you to KR Creative, Table Creek Golf Club, Mary Pargett Photography, Cargill and Fareway and many, many others!

There is no cover charge.  Pizza, wine and frozen pops will be available for sale.  We encourage you to bring your own picnic blanket and lawn chairs. Some tables, chairs and blankets are available, but are limited in number.
