Quiles and Cloud House Concert

Quiles and Cloud, harmony driven, modern folk duo from San Franciso Perform at Whispering Pines B&B House Concert
Quiles and Cloud

“Quiles & Cloud create songs that are scenes of life sung in soft spoken harmonies. Somewhere between Nora Jones, Iron & Wine, and The Civil Wars. Their music takes you on a journey haunted with memories.” – Cookie Marenco, Producer/Engineer/Owner at Blue Coast Records/OTR Studios

There is something remarkable in a live performance. A connection of minds and poetry that only exists in that special place and time. For Quiles & Cloud, making records is simply a way to document brief moments like these so that they may be remembered and shared with others.

When Quiles & Cloud perform, this mentality is evident within the first passage. Each note resonating with intent from a place beyond the instruments. In a space occupied by appreciative listeners, this graceful motion in music is felt collectively, weaving a path that’s personal and welcoming at every turn.

It’s no surprise the group chose to continue this tradition of live recording with their sophomore release, Seminole Star. The album was recorded live to 2″ tape at OTR Studios in Belmont, CA with Cookie Marenco, a legend in the high resolution audio world with a masterful ear for live recording.

Have a listen.

Jaspar Lepak House Concert

jasper Lepak

Jaspar Lepak, folk/Americana songstress, returns to Whispering Pines B&B House Concert.

See Jaspar earlier, at the Nebraska City Farmer’s Market.

Jaspar Lepak is a folk/Americana songstress whose remarkable gift for melody is only surpassed by her poetry. Best known for her bell-like voice and introspective storytelling, Lepak charms as she stirs, and her playful melodies keep your toes tapping and your heart on your sleeve. A child of Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, Lepak started writing songs just after moving to Minneapolis in 2004. Between 2004 and 2009, she recorded five albums, and in the fall of 2009, she left Minneapolis with her husband Kale for Durban, South Africa. Her music found an enthusiastic audience, and in July of 2011, she recorded her sixth CD, Forgiving Wind, which Rolling Stone South Africa hailed as an album full of “beauty and original charm.” Lepak became a Seattle resident in 2012 and tours frequently between her former homes.

“Delicate folk songstress Jaspar Lepak has the kind of Americana, lullaby ghost of a voice that listeners search for in roots music.” (Twin Cities A.V. Club)
