Easter Fun at the Tree Adventure

Embark on a springtime stroll through the Tree Adventure woods and take in a leisurely seek-and-find egg hunt. Children will enjoy visiting with the Easter bunny himself, decorating an egg to showcase on our Easter egg tree, and taking part in an egg drop competition from the 50-ft. Canopy Treehouse! There’s even a DIY Easter craft to take home.

Marvelous Maples at the Tree Adventure

Join us at the Tree Adventure to learn about these marvelous trees and the art of maple tree tapping — and then taste the sweet results! Winter Scavenger Hunt at the Tree Adventure

Head to the Tree Adventure for a nature-themed scavenger hunt guaranteed to shoo away the winter blahs. Grab the scavenger hunt list when you arrive, and then make your way in, through, and around the trails, marking off the items you find. Frost on a plant, wild berries, animal tracks, a feather — it’s fun for all ages and abilities!

Santa’s Lost Reindeer at the Tree Adventure

Santa’s reindeer are lost inside the Tree Adventure, and we need your help to find them! Join with family and friends in a fun-for-all-ages scavenger hunt to discover where the reindeer are hiding along the Tree House Trail. Then use our special mailbox to send a letter to Santa to let him know where to find his reindeer in time for his Christmas ride!

Mommy & Me Painting Class

Spend some quality time with your little one in the beautiful Apple House Market as you learn painting basics and let your creative juices flow. You and your child will each make one painting that, when hung together, will create one masterpiece. $79 per twosome, which includes two canvases for parent and child, paint, and all materials plus light refreshments including a slice of apple pie and water, coffee, or apple cider. It’s weekend #2 of the AppleJack Weekend Festival and time for a TASTE OF APPLEJACK! Head to Arbor Day Farm for fresh apples, caramel apples, fresh-pressed cider, apple cider slushies, apple pie, apple donuts, antique apple tasting, and more. The Morton Family Goes to the Fair

Mystery at the Mansion – Murder Among Mateys – Family Event

After a voyage filled with pillaging and plundering, the Jaded Jewel – Arbor Lodge Mansion turned pirate ship – is docked in a cove near Port Royal. The ship is captained by the dreaded Redbeard. As the pirates head into town to celebrate their homecoming and spend their gold, a night of turmoil and trouble is sure to transpire. As the night quickly steers out of control, one guest meets a tragic demise. Is the culprit the profiteering pirate organizing a mutiny? Or, the sea mistress? Could the perpetrator be the swashbuckling swordsman desperate to win the love of the governor’s daughter? Be among those who help get the guilty person to the gallows or walking the plank!

Participants will receive a character to portray as they arrive at Arbor Lodge Mansion. Wear your own pirate attire or select from our props. This is a family-friendly event – kids aged 8 and up are welcome. Only three youth per adult please.

Get Outdoors Day at Arbor Day Farm

Started in 2008, National Get Outdoors Day is intended to inspire and motivate Americans to get outside for a “healthy, fun day of outdoor adventure.” And there’s no better place to do that than at Arbor Day Farm!

Tree Adventure – Spend the day playing in the trees, go tree climbing, check out binoculars for an up-close view of nature, and take part in our popular gnome hunt. It’s all included with your Tree Adventure admission.

Arbor Lodge Mansion – Pack a picnic, enjoy a stroll through the park, and take a turn at several yard games (including croquet, yard darts, checkers, and bocce ball) on the front lawn. Admission to Arbor Lodge State Historical Park is free.

Your dad will appreciate the special Father’s Day exhibit at Arbor Lodge Mansion! View historic photographs of Morton family fathers and sons. Plus see a special display featuring Joy Morton’s sword collection, many of which were purchased during his world travels. These unique, old-world treasures reveal detailed craftsmanship. Cane and razor collections will also be on display.

History of Games at Arbor Lodge

In celebration of International Tabletop Game Day (June 3), Arbor Lodge will host fun and games for the whole family. Various historic games will be set up throughout the mansion for you to enjoy. Learn the history behind such games as Mansion of Happiness, Checkers, Dominos, Fox and Geese, Tic-Tac-Toe, Tiddlywinks, and many more. The Morton’s valued family time together, and their journals include accounts of games and entertainment they enjoyed. Sitting down with family members and friends to enjoy a board game or cards is proven to help build relationships and memories.

  • Hike wooded trails, sail through the air on the ZipKrooz, and climb a giant spider web.
  • Become a Junior Arborist! Learn about trees and do fun and educational nature activities to earn your very own Arbor Day Farm Junior Arborist patch. Great for kids ages 5-12.
  • Board the Discovery Ride for a backwoods tour of Arbor Day Farm (available Friday-Sunday). Additional ticket purchase required.
  • Go tree climbing on Friday and Saturday from 10am-4pm (weather permitting).
  • Experience a guided orchard tour with our orchards manager. Available Saturday at 10am and 3pm and on Sunday 2pm.
  • Take part in interactive activities including tree ring art, tangram puzzles, and cork crafts and then learn how trees talk to one another. Available Saturday 10am- 4pm and Sunday 1pm-4pm. We’ll also have face painting (additional fee).

Most activities are included with your Tree Adventure admission. The guided orchard tour and Jr. Arborist program are free and do not require Tree Adventure admission.

AppleJack Weekend Series Kick-Off

PLEASE NOTE: For your convenience, the Tree Adventure, Arbor Lodge Mansion, Wine Tasting, Hard Cider Tasting, and Live Music will require tickets for admission. We strongly recommend you purchase tickets in advance online. Space will be limited to help ensure safe social distancing. We cannot guarantee entrance to these attractions/activities without a pre-purchased ticket. Beginning September 14, all Arbor Day Farm attractions will be open Tuesday through Sunday only.

We’re excited to welcome guests to Arbor Day Farm for this year’s version of the AppleJack Festival! To help control crowds and ensure proper social distancing, our regular AppleJack activities will be spread out over three weekends with special events and offerings, such as hard cider tasting, live music, and apple-infused treats.
