Easter Fun at the Tree Adventure

Embark on a springtime stroll through the Tree Adventure woods and take in a leisurely seek-and-find egg hunt. Children will enjoy visiting with the Easter bunny himself, decorating an egg to showcase on our Easter egg tree, and taking part in an egg drop competition from the 50-ft. Canopy Treehouse! There’s even a DIY Easter craft to take home.

Reindeer Chase at the Tree Adventure

Santa’s reindeer are lost inside the Tree Adventure, and we need your help to find them! Join with family and friends in a fun-for-all ages scavenger hunt to discover where the reindeer are hiding along the Tree House Trail. Then use our special mailbox to send a letter to Santa to let him know where to find his reindeer in time for his Christmas ride!

Sunset & S’mores Discovery Ride

Climb aboard for a guided Sunset Discovery Ride as you journey through the orchards and vineyards at Arbor Day Farm. Following the ride, gather ’round for a twilight bonfire complete with make-your-own s’mores.

The ride departure time varies throughout the Summer. The departure time for August 6 is 7:30 p.m. $35 per person includes your Tree Adventure admission, your ticket for the Discovery Ride, the bonfire, make-your-own s’mores, and bottled water.

AppleJack Weekend #2

It’s weekend #2 of the AppleJack Weekend Festival and time for a TASTE OF APPLEJACK! Head to Arbor Day Farm for fresh apples, caramel apples, fresh-pressed cider, apple cider slushies, apple pie, apple donuts, antique apple tasting, and more. You can even enjoy food truck fare (on the Farm or downtown) or grab some delicious barbecue at Porter’s. There’s even the Taste of AppleJack All Things Apple Contest in the Historic Barns on Sunday. Omaha Street Percussion at the Tree Adventure

We can’t wait to bang the drum about the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day and 50th anniversary of the Arbor Day Foundation! And who better to help us do that than Omaha Street Percussion! Join them for two performances (12pm and 2pm) at the Tree Adventure on Saturday, April 30. You’ll find them in the Nature Explore Classroom creating rhythmic sounds using nature’s instruments and any other unorthodox forms of percussion they can find or bring along. It’s a high-energy show that’s fun for the whole family.

Arbor Day Weekend Celebration

Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the tree planters holiday right here where it all began at Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City! All across this 260-acre campus, opportunities abound to play, learn, taste, and shop, all in celebration of trees. In addition to the fun activities listed below, we’re hosting a Prize Hunt April 29-May 1 in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day and the 50th anniversary of the Arbor Day Foundation. Look for specially marked Prize Hunt envelopes in trees around the property to win a variety of prizes including Arbor Day Farm wine, attraction tickets, t-shirts, meals at Timbers and Porter’s, and Lied Lodge overnight stays.

At the Tree Adventure:

  • Explore the tree canopy as you make your way from treehouse to treehouse at the one-of-a-kind Treetop Village.®
  • Experience live performances from Omaha Street Percussion on Saturday at 11am and 2pm.
  • Visiting artist Jayson Fann will repurpose a huge tree trunk into a playable drum. Come see him work Tuesday through mid-Sunday in the outdoor classroom area.
  • Hike wooded trails.
  • Sail through the air on the ZipKrooz and climb a giant spider web.
  • Go tree climbing on Saturday from 10am-3pm (weather permitting).
  • Enjoy a guided orchard tour with our orchards manager. Available Saturday at 10am and 3pm and on Sunday 2pm.

  • Become a Junior Arborist! Learn about trees and do fun and educational nature activities to earn your very own Arbor Day Farm Junior Arborist patch. Great for kids ages 5-12.

At Arbor Lodge Mansion:

  • Explore the 52-room mansion and learn about the history of Arbor Day.

Reindeer Chase at the Tree Adventure

Santa’s reindeer are lost inside the Tree Adventure, and we need your help to find them! Join with family and friends in a fun-for-all ages scavenger hunt to discover where the reindeer are hiding along the Tree House Trail. Then use our special mailbox to send a letter to Santa to let him know where to find his reindeer in time for his Christmas ride!

Get Outdoors Week featuring a Gnome Hunt – Tree Adventure

Tree Planting Art Project

There’s no better way to celebrate Arbor Day than with a little tree planting! And we’re here to help you do just that! Join us in the Hero Gallery at the Tree Adventure where you can decorate a container and then plant a seedling to take home.

Junior Arborist Program

Junior Arborists are important people who know a lot about trees and their impact on our world. They play in the trees. They learn about trees. Sometimes, they even hug trees! Sound like you? Then head to the Tree Adventure during Arbor Day Weekend, and get ready to learn, explore, have fun, and earn your own Arbor Day Farm Junior Arborist badge. You’ll meet a Nature Interpreter to get started and be given your own activity booklet. Complete the number of activity pages for the age you are currently, and you’ll earn your badge. Perfect for kids age 5-12.

There is no cost for this program and most activities can be completed without Tree Adventure admission. Available Saturday 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Hayrack Ride, Storytelling & S’mores

Weekends this fall through Lied Lodge & Conference Center – the entire family will enjoy a mash-up of Arbor Day Farm’s most beloved fall season activities: hayrack rides, storytelling & s’mores!

On Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m., climb aboard a hayrack at the Lied Lodge lobby. Travel to Arbor Day Farm’s Morton Oak tree, where you’ll sip hot chocolate and apple cider, enjoy a hot dog, make s’mores, and listen to tales from a storyteller, before returning to Lied Lodge.

Tickets are $15.00+ tax for adults; $10+ tax for children, age 4-12. Children 3 and under are free but must sit on parent’s lap. Seating is limited on the hayrack, and this activity often sells out. To reserve your seat, please call Lied Lodge at 402-873-8733.

Treetop Village at Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure

Opening Weekend – September 7–8

Three acres up in the trees, 11 treehouses, all connected with elevated bridges and walkways. The one-of-a-kind, fun-for-all-ages Treetop Village will spark imagination and joyful laughter in everyone.

Make your way from treehouse to treehouse without ever touching the ground. Bounce sky-high on the giant WonderNet (the first in North America) and race down a 50-foot slide. It’s fun for hours. Then round out your day with a stay at Lied Lodge.
