Enjoy the natural beauty of the fall season by picking your own apples in the Arbor Day Farm orchards behind the Tree Adventure beginning September 14. U-pick typically continues into early-October, depending on weather and the harvest. We will update the event calendar as soon as a closing date is determined.

Tree Adventure admission is not required to access the orchard for u-pick apples. Purchasing U-pick in advance for AppleJack Weekends (Sept. 16-17 & 23-24) is highly encouraged. Get those tickets here. Please note: the orchard and all Arbor Day Farm attractions are open Tuesday through Sunday only.

Guided Orchard Tours

Get a firsthand look at the Arbor Day Farm orchards and learn what’s happening behind the scenes throughout the year. Our orchards manager will talk about the variety of fruit trees growing on the farm and the importance of pollination, pruning, and more. It’s a great way to celebrate the tree planter’s holiday and learn what’s involved in managing a commercial orchard.

Available Saturday at 10am and 3pm, and Sunday at 2pm.

Meet at the depot area near the Tree Adventure. Activity is free and happens rain or shine.

Celebrate the tastes of the apple harvest with a hard cider tasting experience at the Historic Morton Barns. Representatives from Saro Cider in Lincoln, Nebraska, will be on hand to talk about the cider-making process and help you navigate your way through the crisp and delightful offerings

Purchase tickets in advance at arbordayfarm.showclix.com. Tickets will be available two weeks in advance and are $8 for 4 tastings. Tasting sessions will be held every 90 minutes between 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. You must be 21 years or older to participate in this event.

During the tasting, we will be sampling three Saro Cider favorites, including Sanibel Grapefruit, Miami Orange Shandy, and Three Sisters, as well as Joy Harvest — a limited variety made collaboratively with Arbor Day Farm for this year’s AppleJack celebration.

Stick around after the final tasting for live music from Daybreak beginning at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for kids 12-3; and free for kids 2 and under. U-Pick Apples

New for this year! Tree Adventure admission is not required to access the orchard for u-pick apples. Simply access the orchard and purchase your u-pick bag near the Tree Adventure entrance. Harvest Celebration

The Harvest Celebration (including four weekends of AppleJack activities) is still on despite the recent fire at Porter’s and the Apple House Market! Join us throughout September and October for special events and activities, including wine tasting, hard cider tasting, live music, and more. Play among the trees, explore history, walk the trails, purchase apples and pumpkins, and savor classic apple treats.

Because of capacity and social distancing requirements, we will be spreading out our regular AppleJack activities throughout the fall season. The Tree Adventure and Arbor Lodge Mansion will be open regularly. We are excited to be opening up U-Pick this Thursday, so we thought we’d celebrate with a HONEYCRISP HARVEST PARTY this weekend!

Everyone’s favorite apple is now available and it is prime time for picking HONEYCRISP!

We invite you to visit the Orchard to pick your own apples, enjoy lunch from the Kimmel Kitchen, listen to live music, sample our 12 wine varieties and browse the Apple Barn for all of your favorite goodies! We will of course have fresh baked pies, apple doughnuts and caramel apples available as well!

Honeycrisp will go fast, so don’t hesitate to pick your favorite variety while you can!

U-PICK — “HOW IT WORKS!”
We are excited to announce that have built a BRAND NEW barn where ALL U-PICK will now take place. It is located just north of the two main buildings. It is the one with the RED TIN ROOF!

So, how it works:
• Head to the new U-Pick Barn…remember it is the one with the RED TIN ROOF!

• Once there, there will be a $2 per person admission (little ones 2 and under, free). This is where you will get your bags for picking.

• We will have hay rack rides available on Saturday’s and Sunday’s where you can enjoy a ride to the apple trees.

• After you have picked your favorites, make your way back to the U-Pick Barn, and this is where you will “Weigh & Pay” for your freshly picked apples. Apples are $1.75 per pound (except Honeycrisp…those are $2.50/lb.).

• And then, the only thing left to do is enjoy…and then go home and make some yummy desserts, of course!
